Are your products handmade, and do you use local ingredients?
Absolutely. At Cardinal Chocolaterie, all our chocolate is made by hand in our open kitchen, located right inside our store. From inside – and even from outside – you can watch our chocolatiers at work.
We create everything in small batches, without mass production, ensuring each piece is unique and meets our high quality standards. Whenever possible, we use fresh, fair, and locally sourced ingredients for maximum flavor, freshness, and sustainability.
Do you offer vegan, gluten‑free, or sugar‑free chocolate?
Yes! At Cardinal Chocolaterie, you’ll find a wide selection of vegan chocolate, almost all of our products are gluten‑free, and we also offer delicious sugar‑free chocolate.
However, because everything is prepared in the same kitchen and on the same work surfaces, we cannot guarantee our products are 100% free from traces of gluten. If you are extremely sensitive (e.g. have coeliac disease), please take this into account.

Can I buy chocolate as a gift, and do you offer gift packaging?

How should I store my chocolate for the best quality?
To fully enjoy our artisanal chocolate, follow these simple storage tips:
- Cool and dry – Ideal temperature is between 15–18 °C (59–64 °F).
- Avoid sunlight and humidity – This prevents bloom (a harmless white layer) and keeps texture perfect.
- Only refrigerate in hot weather – Normally, chocolate doesn’t need to go in the fridge. If your home is very warm, wrap it airtight to avoid absorbing moisture or odors.
- Let it reach room temperature – If refrigerated, take the chocolate out around 30 minutes before eating to prevent condensation and protect texture.
- Keep away from strong smells – Chocolate easily absorbs odors, so store it away from items like cheese or spices.
